Define A Jew And Define A Spiritualist ©

By Dr. Akiva G. Belk

Classmates, I must compliment the members of this class in our early going for their excellent comments and questions. The discussion that follows was with one of our classmates. Please note that in question #3 I have capitalized the letter H in He because the He is in reference to Hashem. We will learn more about proper respect for Hashem as we continue to study together.

Blessings and Peace,

Dr. Akiva G. Belk

ASSIGNMENT:
1.) What is the difference between a Hebrew {a Jew} and a Noachide {a Spiritualist}?

1: Its seems that the main difference is birth. A Noachide is able to chose, while a Hebrew will always be a Hebrew. But on the other hand what about a Hebrew that rejects their birth right. Also are we not all destined to become HaShem's chosen?

2} Did you know that the numbering system of a Jewish / Spiritualist Chumash is different from the Christian Old Testament?

2: Yes in some cases, but are how exactly is it different?

3} Did you know that most of the world reads backwards when compared to Hebrew, the original language?

3: Yes, I have recently been reading Genesis in Hebrew for the first time and a question came into my head. Since Hebrew is the original language, why is it that Hashem named certain things what He did? Why did He chose those letters and in that order? I still haven't found an answer for that one.

Shalom Drew,

The difference between an Eve Ree {Hebrew, a Jew} and a Noachide {a Spiritualist}...is that first of all, Avraham, originally a Spiritualist, and Yaakov also a Spiritualist crossed over the Yardon River. Second, Hashem made a Covenant {cut agreement} with Avram {Avraham} in Genesis 15:1-18 and affirmed that agreement with Yitzchok and Yaakov, et al. Hashem and Avram made a Covenant. Third, the Torah was given only to B'nei Yisroel {Children of Israel} on Har Sinai. Our sages teach that Hashem offered the Torah to all the other sixty-nine nations of the world before offering it to B'nei Yisroel. Only B'nai Yisroel said in unison, "All that Hashem has spoken, We will do." Shemos {Exodus} 19:8
Fourth, here are specific distinctions drawn between B'nai Noach and B'nei Yisroel. I have discussed some of these in the article entitled What Does B'nei Yisroel Mean? located at: http://www.7commands.com/judaism_eh_ved_spirituality/what_does_bnei_yisroel_mea.html

In this discussion I use the term 'Non-Jew". I specifically did not use the term Spiritualist because Spiritualists have already walked these roads and crossed these paths.

In another article entitled, Understanding the Separation Of B'nei Yisroel Better we continue this discussion at:

http://www.7commands.com/judaism_eh_ved_spirituality/understanding_the_separat.html

There are other classes in addition to these. They are part of the next thirteen lessons so we will be discussing them G-d willing a ways down the learning path. However you can take a glimpse now...

Now we will discover as we study together Jews never lose their idenity as Jews or, as you put it, their birthright. This is Hashem's Eternal Covenant with the Jewish People. These are teachings outside of Judaism or Spirituality. In addition, the term or concept of being engrafted into Judaism is also incorrect.

Spiritualists are born Spiritualists as Jews are born Jews. Spiritualists may convert to Judaism, otherwise they will always remain Spiritualists. As we study Spirituality we observe that being a Spiritualist is pretty nice.

Drew, please observe Sefer Zechariah of Tenach 8:23. This describes a condition after Moshiach {Jewish Messiah} comes and the third Bais HaMikdosh {Holy Temple} is rebuilt.

As we study together the difference in the numbering system will become obvious if you use a non Jewish Tenach to study from.

As far as the letters go, are you referring to the Aleph Bais {the Hebrew Alpha Bet}? Please explain.

Drew, this is one reason we call Gematria part of Jewish Mysticism. It contains many mysteries. The subject that you inquire about is deep and quite advanced. However, there are seforim that discuss this in part. Most do not give enough attention to the details. However I would first encourage you to visit JewishPath Gematria, Mysticism of the Hebrew Letters for some general information at...

Thank you for your excellent questions and comments.
